WWE partners with IGT in lottery game deal

WWE and IGT Sign Multi-Year Agreement to Create Branded Lottery Games

WWE lottery games are coming soon to the USA. The WWE has announced a multi-year agreement with International Game Technology (IGT) to create and distribute branded lottery games.

According to a WWE press release, IGT will offer promotional programs featuring WWE logos, superstars, and events.

Details of the Lottery Partnership Deal

IGT plans to develop and distribute the WWE branded lottery games, giving pro wrestling fans the chance to play for prizes featuring their favorite superstars. WWE Vice President, Revenue Strategy & Development, Alex Varga, pointed out in a press release that IGT is a leader in the lottery and gaming industry and the WWE looks forward to collaborating with them to bring lottery games to fans worldwide.

“IGT is the clear industry leader in the lottery and gaming space, and we look forward to collaborating by bringing our intellectual property to our fans and lottery games around the globe. This is an exciting opportunity for us to continue to leverage the strong crossover between the WWE Universe and another segment of the gaming landscape.”

Jay Gendron, IGT Chief Operating Officer, Lottery, noted that the WWE brand has a broad appeal across a diverse age range and cultural demographics across the globe.

“The WWE brand has broad appeal that reaches diverse age groups and cultural demographics in many geographies. IGT looks forward to melding the unique WWE assets with IGT’s lottery expertise to create appealing, high-quality games and second-chance promotional opportunities for our global customers and their players.”

Because the partnership includes rights to superstars and events, look for lottery games to feature big names. Currently, Brock Lesnar is the WWE champion, and Roman Reigns is the Universal Champion. New lottery games could feature these wrestlers’ likenesses, among others.

Additional big WWE names to watch out for include:

  • Bray Wyatt “The Fiend”
  • Dolph Ziggler
  • Seth Rollins
  • Bobby Lashley
  • Daniel Brian
  • Randy Orton

There are also female superstars to consider, such as Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch or the SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair associated with games as well.

Partnership Taps Into Massive WWE Demographic Market

The WWE and IGT partnership has enormous potential for lottery ticket sales. Worldwide, WWE is available within 900 million households via television broadcasts. WWE events air in over 180 countries and are available in 28 languages.

The WWE offers original programming watched by 11 million fans in the United States alone. The audience is massive, and most viewers are of age to purchase lottery tickets. A large percentage of WWE fans occupy the valuable 18-50 years old demographic.

The partnership is just the WWE’s latest effort to cozy up with online gambling providers. Last March, the WWE and DraftKings reached a similar marketing agreement centered around the latter’s free-to-play predictions pools.
