Review and Bonus Code

The Party Poker name rode the online poker boom to glory in the early days of online gaming and reigned as the biggest poker site for US players prior to 2006. Legislation unfriendly to online gaming resulted in Party Poker leaving the US market, but Party Gaming remained busy overseas and spent the time away growing on the international market.

Snapshot: operates in conjunction with Atlantic City’s own Borgata to offer legal online gambling in the USA. Gaming options include slots, table games and live dealer games.

Party Gaming merged with Bwin to form in 2011, and the entire thing was later bought out by GVC Holdings where it remains today. The Party name has been through a lot since the old US days prior to 2006, but the name lives on to this very day. Party was able to regain access to the US market in New Jersey and is teamed up with Borgata Casino in Atlantic City to serve residents of New Jersey.

Party Casino offers players a full range of gaming options with casino games, table games, multi-player poker and much more all accessible from a single account. Both websites hold active licenses from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

Today, we will be discussing both websites separate on a single page. You can use the following links to jump ahead to the portion of the review that interests you most. We’ll be offering our personal opinions on a few aspects of Party NJ, but overall we will be sticking to the straight-up facts so you can form your own opinion and decide if this is the right gaming site for you.

Party Casino Review

When Party Casino first came to New Jersey, it was in the form of an add-on to the Party Poker software rather than a standalone product. At that time, Party Casino felt like more of an add-on or an afterthought than an actual, full-fledged gaming site. Party Casino finally branched out onto its own website in early 2018 and is now a complete online casino.

Party now runs one of the bigger online casinos in New Jersey with a large collection of slots from multiple software providers, table games, multiple forms of blackjack, progressive jackpot games and even a handful of live dealer games featuring real, human dealers who deal the cards in real time via streaming video.

Party Casino offers up to $500 for new players, runs a loyalty program, provides recurring promotions for existing customers and does it all under the purview of the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The new Party Casino NJ is an upgrade over the old casino by almost every measure. The new casino is independent from the poker client, requires no download, offers more games, a better interface and better graphics.

Where the new Party Casino stumbles is in its promotional offerings. The new customer bonuses and loyalty promotions look nice in theory, but come with significant terms and conditions that make it difficult to derive any real value from them.

Party Casino Bonus

The Party Casino bonus can be claimed to double each of your first three deposits for up to $500 extra. After you sign up for an account, use the bonus code WELCOMEBONUS when you make your first deposit and you’ll receive the following bonuses across your first three deposits:

  • First deposit: 100% up to $200
  • Second Deposit: 100% up to $150
  • Third Deposit: 100% up to $150

These are fairly large bonuses for an online casino, but there are some key terms and conditions that you should understand before claiming this bonus. Most importantly, the bonus has high rollover requirements and is really only useful for slots players. If you don’t play slots or don’t feel like being on the hook for a 20x rollover, you can just skip the bonus code to opt out.

Also, remember to use the bonus code WELCOMEBONUS if you wish to claim this offer.

Important terms and conditions: The minimum deposit to trigger a bonus is $10. This bonus comes with a 20x rollover on the deposit + bonus amount before the bonus money or any winnings may be withdrawn. This bonus cannot be cleared with table games or video poker and you have 30 days to clear the entire bonus.

Example: A $100 deposit would get you a $100 bonus for a total of $200. Your total wagering requirements would be $200 x 20 = $4,000 before the bonus money or any winnings obtained by wagering the bonus money may be withdrawn. After you meet the wagering requirements, any winnings will be credited to your account.

Weekly Reload Bonus

After you claim and clear your first deposit bonus, you can claim one more bonus every week on a day of your choosing. You can see your current bonus offer by logging in to your account on any weekday, visiting the “my bonuses” section and then look for your weekly reload bonus code. After that, you can make a deposit with that bonus code to claim your offer.

Important terms and conditions: All reload bonuses come with a 35x deposit + bonus rollover that must be met within 3 days of receiving the bonus. If you are unable to meet the clearing requirements in time, the bonus offer and any winnings derived from wagering the bonus will be removed from your account.

Party Casino Game Selection

Party Casino earns high marks in game selection and variety with slots, table games, video poker and live dealer games all on offer in all manner of style and theme. Slots account for the bulk of Party Casino’s 200+ games while table games, video poker and live dealer games account for all the rest.

There are also seven progressive jackpot slots on offer, but all share one of just two actual unique jackpots. The biggest of the two at the time of this review was a $2.3 million jackpot shared by four different slots. The other jackpot on offer at the time was worth just north of $1,000 at the time of this review and was shared by three games.

The table games collection includes all the standard casino classics such as blackjack, roulette and craps in addition to some other specialty games such as Texas Holdem bonus poker and Double Bonus Spin roulette. Party Casino also offers a handful of standard video poker variants such as Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild.

Party Casino’s live dealer games offer a splash of something unique with real human dealers who interact onscreen with you via live streaming video. As you place bets online, the person on the other side of the screen deals physical cards, announces the game actions and chats with players just like a dealer would if you were actually there in person.

Party Casino Software Review

Party Casino for desktop users is completely browser-based with no download necessary while mobile users can download official Party Apps for iOS and Android devices. Mobil users may also visit the Party Casino website to play online through the mobile-ready website without downloading anything.

The software itself is sleek and runs quickly, which is to be expected from a gaming company as experienced as Party. Some of New Jersey’s other casino sites have debuted pretty rough software with companies that are not as experienced, and the difference in quality is noticeable immediately once you switch from one of those other sites to Party Casino NJ.

For instance, live dealer blackjack is even available on Party Casino mobile. Getting a real money, live-dealer game to work properly on mobile devices is no small undertaking, but it works fine at Party Casino.

The game library is quite diverse in look and feel thanks to Party’s inclusion of games from various software providers. The casino includes games from a wide range of developers such as Konami, NetEnt, Barcrest, IGT, Spielo, SG Interactive, NYX, NextGen and more.

Party Casino Slots

Slots are by far Party Casino’s most numerous game type and come in all shapes and sizes. A large number of independent software developers have been tapped to provide slots for Party Casino and that has resulted in a collection of games that are all unique in their own ways.

Some of the slots feature modern graphics that would be at home in a Pixar movie while others look like quite dated today. They have complicated slots with evolving storylines and multiple bonus games mixed in with slots that are simple, basic and fast. You can see the screenshots above to get an idea of what to expect.

One thing Party Casino NJ could improve is to offer more progressive jackpot slots. There is only one major progressive jackpot at this time and it is shared across four online slots. It’s a nice jackpot that often exceeds $2 million, but it would be nice to see other large jackpots offered at other games just to keep things new and fresh for those of us who enjoy aiming for the biggest jackpots.

Party Casino’s current list of jackpot games includes the following games (jackpots listed as of time of this writing):

  • Loot’enkhamun: $2,360,311
  • Melon Madness: $2,360,311
  • Biker Pigs: $2,360,311
  • Candy Store: $1,077.70
  • Going Nuts: $2,360,311
  • Money Boat: $1,077.70
  • Pirates’ Booty: $1,077.70

Table Games and Video Poker

Party Casino offers only the most basic collection of table games made up of standard casino staples such as blackjack and roulette. More exotic games are nowhere to be found – not even Caribbean Stud or Let It Ride. Party casino sticks to the absolute basics when it comes to table games.

There are a few variations of blackjack and roulette you can try to mix things up, but those will only take you so far. The full list of table games includes:

  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Texas Holdem Bonus Poker
  • Vegas Downtown Blackjack Multiplayer
  • American Roulette Pro
  • Double Bonus Spin Roulette
  • Multi-Hand Blackjack
  • European Roulette Pro

The story is much the same with video poker at Actually, there are more video poker variations than there are table games, but the total collection still isn’t anywhere near comprehensive. Here’s the full list of video poker variations:

  • Bonus Poker
  • Double Bonus Poker
  • Double Double Bonus Poker
  • Jacks or Better
  • Deuces Wild
  • Double Double Regal Poker
  • Jacks or Better
  • Jester Poker
  • Regal Poker Deluxe
  • Five Play Draw Poker Multi-Hand
  • Triple Play Draw Poker Multi-Hand

Party Casino Live Dealer Games

Party Casino introduced live dealer tables for blackjack, American roulette, Baccarat and Casino Holdem in 2018, based on software provided by parent company GVC Holdings. The Party Casino live dealer room operates on specific hours, presumably until player traffic grows enough to support moving to a 24/7 schedule.

Party Casino’s current live dealer hours are as follows:

  • Monday-Wednesday: 2PM to 3 AM
  • Thursday-Sunday: Noon to 3 AM

For anyone unfamiliar with live dealer games, these are exactly what they sound like: online games run by human dealers. Live streaming video piped in from an actual studio casino connects you to a trained dealer who handles the cards, chats with you and the other players and does everything else a real dealer would do.

The intended effect is to make it feel as close to the real thing as possible. If you can’t make it to the Borgata in person some evening, the idea is you can just log on to Party Casino NJ for that live experience from the comfort of home.

Party Casino Deposit Methods

Party Casino and Party Poker both share one cashier which accepts nine deposit methods that include credit and debit cards, bank transfers, e-wallets and even in-person cash deposits at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

The full list of deposit methods includes:

Will Party Expand to Other States?

Yes, we believe the Party name will indeed be seen in other states over time. PartyCasino and partypoker have been active exclusively in the New Jersey market until recently, but expansion plans are underway.

While other major operators such as DraftKings, PointsBet and The Stars Group steal headlines announcing partnership after partnership in new markets, it would be easy to forget that parent company GVC Holdings actually has big plans for the US market as well.

Back in 2018, GVC Holdings and MGM Resorts International announced a $200 million partnership to create a US-focused entity designed entirely on dominating the online sports betting and gambling markets in the US.

That entity, we now know, is called Roar Digital. Both companies announced back in 2018 that they would pursue sports betting and other forms of online gambling, primarily under the BetMGM and partypoker brand names.

Since then, Roar Digital has expanded its potential reach through a partnership with a California tribe for sports betting and by acquiring additional licenses in New Jersey and Nevada.

Between MGM’s land-based properties in eight states and a partnership with Boyd Gaming, Roar Digital already has market access to 15 states where it can launch sports betting and online gambling operations pending legislation.

New Jersey

  • Land-Based Partner: Borgata AC

Roar Digital is already active in the New Jersey market via its PartyCasino, partypoker and BetMGM brands to offer a full range of sports betting, gambling and online poker services throughout the state.

While PartyCasino and partypoker are limited to online gambling and poker respectively, BetMGM offers all of the above plus sports betting. In New Jersey, both operate off the Borgata online gaming license.

  • Land-Based Partner: Thunder Valley Casino Resort

Party and MGM have a potential route into California through a partnership signed between Roar Digital and the United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC). Under that partnership, Roar Digital will have the option to offer online betting and gambling through Thunder Valley Casino Resort if legislation is passed to offer online gaming in California.

The odds of CA legalizing online sports betting and gambling anytime soon do not look great at the moment, but Party and MGM were wise to secure the partnership nonetheless. If California does enact a law to authorize mobile sportsbooks and online casinos, it will instantly become one of the biggest markets in the US.

  • Land-Based Partner: Par-A-Dice Hotel & Casino

Most Illinois sports betting licenses are issued exclusively to the operators of land-based casinos, which will be no problem for Roar Digital thanks to its partnership with Boyd Gaming. In Illinois, Boyd Gaming operates Par-A-Dice Hotel & Casino in East Peoria.

Although IL law also allows three licenses to be awarded to operators who do not have a land-based presence in the state, those licenses are significantly more expensive in addition to being limited in number. That will cause no issue for Party/MGM thanks to the Boyd Gaming agreement.

  • Potential Land-Based Partners: Blue Chip Casino and Belterra Casino

Indiana law allows each land-based casino to operate up to three individually-branded betting sites in partnership with third-party providers (such as Party and BetMGM). The Roar Digital group has an inroad into Indiana via Boyd Gaming’s Blue Chip Casino and Belterra Casino.

Both Boyd Gaming casinos have received sports betting licenses since the law was passed. It should just be a matter of time now before Roar Digital reveals its intentions in Indiana.

  • Potential Land-Based Partners: Diamond Jo Dubuque and Diamond Jo Worth

Roar Digital may be able to enter the Iowa online betting market through the two Diamond Jo casinos operated by Boyd Gaming.

Boyd Gaming also has a partnership in place with Flutter Entertainment (formerly known as Paddy Power Betfair) that will most likely result in FanDuel launching on one of the Diamond Jo licenses.

Iowa law allows each casino to operate up to two individual betting apps, which means Boyd Gaming will be able to launch as many as four different online sportsbooks in partnership with various providers.

  • Land-Based Partner: Kansas Star Casino

Lawmakers in Kansas have made some attempts to legalize sports betting in recent years, but progress has been slow. Even so, MGM and partypoker may have a way into Kansas via Boyd Gaming’s ownership of Kansas Star Casino located just south of Wichita. Of course, this is dependent on KS passing legislation to authorize online betting and gambling.

  • Potential Land-Based Partners: Amelia Belle Casino, Delta Downs, Evangeline Downs, Sam’s Town Shreveport and Treasure Chest Casino

Louisiana is on the shortlist of states likely to legalize sports betting sooner rather than later with lawmakers introducing multiple bills in recent years to allow the launch of sportsbooks. If Louisiana enacts a law to legalize online betting, Roar Digital will be able to partner with any of Boyd’s five casinos.

MGM Resorts International has plans to enter the Pennsylvania market and those plans may include bringing Party along for the ride since both are partnered on the Roar Digital venture.

In 2018, MGM Resorts applied for three online gambling licenses in Pennsylvania as a part of the state’s qualified gaming entity (QGE) program that offers a limited number of licenses to out of state providers. Even though MGM does not have a physical presence in PA, the fact that MGM is licensed in New Jersey qualifies it as a potential PA operator.

PA gambling law allows MGM to offer online slots, table games and poker if licensed by the Gaming Control Board. We can imagine one possible outcome in which online slots and table games are offered under the BetMGM brand while online poker is offered under the partypoker brand in PA.

The MGM-Boyd partnership appears not to apply in Pennsylvania as Valley Forge Casino (operated by Boyd Gaming) is already partnered with FanDuel for online betting.

  • Land-Based Partner: MGM National Harbor

PartyCasino, partypoker and MGM Online may have a path to launch in Maryland depending on the type of legislation enacted. Maryland does not yet have mobile betting or online gambling, but MGM National Harbor is ready to act if legislation is passed.

  • Land-Based Partner: MGM Springfield

Massachusetts has a strong chance of legalizing mobile sports betting and possibly online gambling. In 2019, Governor Baker said he planned to file online betting legislation himself – which indicates significant interest among the state’s top lawmakers.

If Massachusetts does legalize online betting, MGM Springfield will serve as the logical launchpad for MGM and Party’s Roar Digital to commence operations.

  • Potential Land-Based Partners: Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Gold Strike Tunica, IP Casino Resort and Sam’s Town Tunica

Now that Mississippi has legalized retail sportsbooks, legal online betting does not seem like such a long shot. There is no word of immediate action on that front, but we do believe it will happen sooner or later.

In that case, Roar Digital has multiple entry points into the market through four casinos operated by MGM and Boyd Gaming.

  • Potential Land-Based Partners: Ameristar St. Charles and Ameristar Kansas City

Missouri seems to be leaning in the direction of legal sports betting with lawmakers introducing multiple bills in recent legislative sessions. If that happens, Party and MGM may be able to enter the market through Boyd Gaming’s two Ameristar casinos.

  • Potential Land-Based Partners: Numerous locations across Nevada owned by MGM and Boyd Gaming

Party and MGM are taking Roar Digital to the Nevada gambling market. In May 2019, partypoker parent company GVC holdings acquired an online gaming license from the Gaming Commission to secure its place in Nevada.

Neither Party nor MGM have publicly detailed their exact plans for Roar Digital in Nevada, but speculation has it partypoker is coming to Nevada soon to offer online poker. Roar Digital could also partner with one of the many MGM/Boyd casinos across the state to launch mobile sports betting.

New York

  • Potential Land-Based Partner: Empire City Casino

New York got its first retail sportsbooks in 2019 and will likely authorize online betting at some point. Although there is strong demand for online betting in New York, movement on the issue has been frustratingly slow. If and when NY legalizes mobile betting, Roar Digital may end up partnering with MGM’s Empire City Casino.

  • Potential Land-Based Partner: Belterra Park

Ohio appears to be moving down the road to legal sports betting with multiple bills in play to authorize in-person and mobile sportsbooks. One likely point of entry for Party and MGM’s joint venture is Belterra Park, owned by Boyd Gaming.
